Yvonne Amarteifio, the visionary founder of Everre Bags, also known as House of Everre, has crafted a heartfelt journey from adversity to philanthropy. Hailing from Accra, Ghana, Yvonne's entrepreneurial spirit was ignited during the throes of the pandemic when she lost her corporate job. Undeterred by the challenges, she embarked on a creative venture deeply rooted in her Ghanaian heritage.
The initial chapters of her venture saw Yvonne immersing herself in the tradition of waist beads, a cultural touchstone from her Ghanaian roots. With an unwavering commitment to self-reinvention, she soon expanded her repertoire to include bracelets and ultimately transitioned to the realm of handbags. The journey was arduous initially, but Yvonne's dedication led her to refine her process, resulting in the creation of exquisite, one-of-a-kind beaded handbags.
Each of Yvonne's creations is a labor of love, demanding 30-60 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. Despite her own day job commitments, she sought to extend her impact beyond the world of fashion. Partnering with the Jamarit Creations and Training Center in Ghana, Yvonne found a way to give back to her homeland.
Deeply moved by the economic disparities in Ghana, Yvonne decided to allocate 40% of Everre's profits to the Jamarit Center, funding scholarships for students. These scholarships cover essential needs such as food, uniforms, materials, and tuition costs, providing a holistic support system for the students during their year-long training at the center.
The synergy between Everre and the Jamarit Center exemplifies Yvonne's commitment to breaking the cycle of economic disparity in Ghana. Her initiative not only empowers individuals with valuable skills but also ensures their well-being. Every handbag purchased becomes a catalyst for positive change, contributing to the livelihoods of those involved in the intricate process of crafting these unique pieces.
Yvonne's dedication extends beyond commerce, as she founded the Beads to Feed Sponsorship and Scholarship Program, a nonprofit channeling donations directly to the training center. With a team of at least five full-time employees, including a master weaver, Everre prides itself on its handmade, distinctive creations. From the popular Barbie collection to innovative stadium-approved clear beaded bags, each piece is a testament to Yvonne's creativity and commitment to making a difference.
Celebrating its first anniversary, Everre is not just a brand; it is a beacon of hope and opportunity. Yvonne's passion for giving back has transformed the House of Everre into a vehicle for positive change.
